Colorado pickups are pretty evenly split between the Front Range metros (Denver, Aurora, Colorado Springs, Boulder) and the resort communities (Vail, Aspen, Steamboat Springs) where Canadians often own seasonal property. You see that in the client mix: aerospace and defense engineers from Colorado Springs and Lockheed’s Denver campus, software workers abandoning Boulder’s tech corridor for Toronto’s AI scene, and retirees giving up mountain homes as the upkeep becomes too much.

Mountain pickups have some logistical quirks. Driveways at altitude can be tight, gated, or off dirt roads that don’t handle a 53-foot trailer – for those we send a smaller shuttle truck and consolidate at a transfer point near the highway. At least Front Range guys are easy to pick up in Denver high-rises or Aurora subdivisions. The Colorado pickup is priced on a volume basis so weather delays in Wyoming or Iowa do not affect your contract rate.

Truck Route from Denver to Toronto

A corridor from Colorado to Ontario where routing is dictated by weather, not distance. The usual route goes east out of Denver on I-76 into Nebraska, then I-80 East across Iowa into Illinois — but in winter some drivers veer south to I-70 and take the Kansas-Missouri-Indiana string instead, to avoid the Nebraska blizzards. Both routes merge near Chicago then head east on I-94 through Michigan to the Ambassador Bridge crossing at Detroit. Once across the border, Canadian customs clears the truck, the highway 401 east takes it the final stretch to the GTA. Pickups in Colorado Springs add a southbound leg on I-25 before connecting with the Denver corridor. Mountain shipments from Vail, Aspen or Steamboat Springs come down to I-70 first via Highway 24, 82 or 40 respectively.
