We regularly service the Illinois to Toronto route, a constant Midwest to GTA corridor. Most pickups are from Chicago and surrounding suburbs (Aurora, Naperville, Schaumburg, Evanston) with the occasional shipment from down state cities like Springfield and Peoria. This route is popular with finance and consulting professionals relocating to Bay Street, tech workers moving to take advantage of opportunities in Toronto’s burgeoning startup ecosystem, and Canadian families returning home from the Chicago metro area.

Typically, shipments are one and two bedroom apartment loads from Chicago high-rise neighbourhoods such as the Loop, River North and Lincoln Park where building access is similar to what we deal with in downtown Toronto. Standard service coordination of Certificate of Insurance and freight elevator bookings. The price is locked in Illinois based on volume and does not change at delivery in Toronto due to urban access conditions or border processing time.

Truck Route from Chicago to Toronto

Most Chicago to Toronto moves are made through the commercial border crossing of Ambassador Bridge (Windsor / Detroit)-3801, which is the most direct freight gateway between the Chicago region and Ontario. Trucks pick up in Chicago or its suburbs and drive east on I-94 through Indiana and into Michigan and continue along I-94 to Detroit. Trucks cross the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor, clear Canadian customs and get on Highway 401 East, which leads directly into the Toronto metro area. Trucks may take I-90 to connect with the I-94 corridor before Detroit to pick up in northern Illinois near Rockford or western suburbs such as Aurora.
