Indiana is one of our shorter US lanes and has a more flexible schedule than long-haul routes. Indianapolis is the volume anchor – steady share of pickups from Eli Lilly pharmaceutical transfers, Salesforce tower professionals and Cummins engineers in Columbus. And Fort Wayne is seeing some relocations in the manufacturing sector while Evansville and southern Indiana are seeing occasional university-related moves from IU Bloomington and Notre Dame. The biggest individual loads come from the richest northern suburbs of Indianapolis, Carmel and Fishers, and these are usually full 3-bedroom homes with finished basements.

Since the route is short, we can sometimes accommodate next-week pickup requests that don’t work on cross-country lanes. Downtown Indianapolis pickups in Mass Ave or Fountain Square often require parking permits – we coordinate those with the city ahead of time. Volume-based pricing is locked in at the Indiana inventory check, even with same-week scheduling, the rate is locked in through to delivery in Toronto.

Truck Route from Indianapolis to Toronto

From a logistics standpoint, Indiana is well positioned – it's one of the few US states where the entire route to Ontario is basically a single sequence of Interstates. From Indianapolis you take I-69 north. I-69 cuts right through Fort Wayne and goes all the way to Michigan. It ends around Lansing. Then you take 96 E, which connects with 94 E and goes right into Detroit. The truck clears customs at the Ambassador Bridge and Highway 401 East brings it into the Toronto metro. Normal transit is 2-3 days. Southern Indiana and Evansville pickups add about a half day to the front leg, picking up I-69 North or I-65 North through Indianapolis to meet up with the main route. Fort Wayne pickups sometimes take a somewhat different path -- U.S. 24 East straight into Ohio, then I-75 North to Detroit – depending on weather and traffic.
