Disassembly, Transport and On-Site Motor Test
A hospital bed move done properly is three jobs in one: a careful disassembly, a protected transport, and a working reassembly. Most damage we see on beds that other companies have moved happens in two places — motor connections pulled loose during transport, and remotes paired to the wrong bed or lost entirely.
We disconnect the bed from power ourselves, remove the side rails, separate the head and foot sections, secure the motor and control box, and label every small part. Cables, remotes, bolts and the hand pendant all go into clearly marked zip bags attached to the frame so nothing ends up in the wrong truck or the wrong room at destination.
At the new address we reassemble the bed, plug it in, and run a full motor and remote test — head section, foot section, full height adjustment, Trendelenburg if the bed has it, and every button on the remote. We do not consider the job finished until the bed runs through every position without hesitation.

Moving a bed in or out of a clinic, retirement residence, or long-term care home is not the same as moving one in or out of a private home. Hallways are shared, residents are sleeping, nurses are working, and a loud crew blocking a corridor is a real problem.
For institutional jobs we coordinate timing with the facility's loading dock and shift schedule, work in the lowest-traffic windows, use rubber-wheeled dollies that do not scrape floors or echo down hallways, and keep one mover on traffic control so we never block a fire route, a meal cart, or a nursing station.
