What Drives the Final Price
- Stairs and access. Flat exits and elevators are fastest; basement carries and walk-ups add handling time. We ask for stair count and turn layout before arrival.
- Doorway clearance. Most full-size treadmills (Life Fitness T5, Sole F85, Precor TRM, Horizon 7.4) need the console folded and the side rails removed to pass a standard 32" doorway.
- Treadmill weight class. Light folding units (~150 lb) move differently than commercial decks (300–450 lb). Heavier units require two movers, straps, and sometimes a rigging dolly.
- Travel distance. Same-floor repositioning is faster than a Mississauga-to-Toronto run; long-distance routes from Barrie, Newmarket, or Bowmanville are priced on the actual route.
- Reassembly. Included by default. If you only need disassembly and loading (you handle transport and rebuild), the price drops.
Disassembly, Transport, Reassembly
Almost every full-size treadmill needs at least partial disassembly to leave a room safely. Our standard process: fold the console, remove side rails or uprights if required, secure the motor housing, and wrap the deck in moving blankets. Every bolt, washer, allen key, and safety key goes into a labelled zip bag taped to the frame – nothing arrives at the new house missing parts.
During transport the treadmill is strapped flat against the truck wall on its side, with the deck padded and electronics protected. We don't stack other items on top of treadmills.
At delivery, we reassemble the unit, plug it in, and run the belt at low speed to confirm the motor, console, and incline (if motorized) all respond correctly before we leave the property.
Floors, Walls, and Condo Access
Treadmills are wide, heavy, and have hard plastic edges that scratch hardwood and gouge drywall if a crew gets careless. We use floor runners over hardwood and laminate, corner protectors on tight stair turns, and jamb pads when the unit has to be tilted through a frame.
For Toronto condos we check elevator dimensions before arrival – most condo elevators are around 7 ft tall and 4 ft deep, which fits a folded treadmill standing on end. Buildings that require an elevator reservation or Certificate of Insurance are accommodated when we know in advance.
