North Carolina’s pickups split across three different metros each creating different client profiles. Charlotte leads the charge – Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Truist Financial relocate to Toronto’s Bay Street, Lowe’s corporate relocates to retail operations in Canada. The Research Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill) has a steady flow of Duke and UNC academics, biotech workers coming from Research Triangle Park to Toronto’s life sciences corridor and IBM transfers between RTP and Markham. Transfers from Greensboro and the Piedmont Triad in the textile and aerospace industry. Employees of Honda Aircraft Company and Volvo Trucks sometimes transfer to operations in Canada.

Charlotte uptown high-rises (Duke Energy Center, Hearst Tower, the various Tryon Street towers) require standard COI and freight elevator coordination – we book these 48-72 hours in advance. Cary, Apex and Wake Forest tend to have growing subdivisions of larger 3-bedroom suburban homes with full garages and basements. Coastal pickups in Wilmington or the Outer Banks add operational complexity during hurricane season (June through November), when we monitor evacuation routing and adjust pickup windows. North Carolina's inventory check locks in cubic foot pricing, weather routing and access issues don't change the contract figure.

Truck Route from Charlotte to Toronto

Peace Bridge is the natural exit point from North Carolina’s mid-Atlantic position – going north through Pennsylvania to Buffalo beats dropping down to the Detroit corridor. From Charlotte, take I-77 north all the way through Virginia and West Virginia, then get on I-79 North toward Pittsburgh. From there the route picks up I-90 West (NY State Thruway) heading west to Buffalo where Canadian customs clears at the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie. The QEW does the rest of the drive into the GTA for the truck. Raleigh and the Research Triangle pickups join the Charlotte route through I-77 in Virginia, either I-85 North or I-95 North; Greensboro pickups flow directly into I-77 via Mt. Airy. Coastal Carolina pickups (Wilmington, the Outer Banks) go I-40 West to Raleigh before joining the regular northbound corridor.
